FELT Cafe 700C

These are bikes that work well on the road for recreational riding or trips to the store and also work for paved or well groomed bike trails, rails-to-trails and around the block.

FELT Cafe 700C

Just bought this for $32. Needs chain, pedals, brake pads, and possibly tire tubes. Was at the seacoast so there are rusty bits everywhere. Should be able to ask $175 for this once the work is performed.

Is that a carbon fiber fork? Felt is a great value name brand. Around here, you can get a Felt bike, with a lot of awesome components, for about double the BBB price... Where Specialized, Cannondale and Giant range 3 or 4 times the BBB cost for an entry level bike. Great find! A new chain, pedals, and some TLC should make a great hybrid/commuter out of that one

FELT makes a good bike. The frame is aluminum and so is the fork, the rims are double-walled aluminum and everything else too. I just bought some cruiser pedals and a multispeed chain from WM for $17 total. They didn't have Shraeder tubes in the 700c size...I suppose I could have bought 27" tubes, will see if tightening the valves inside the tubes makes them hold air, winter shrinks the little o-ring and then tubes' air seeps out.

Chain is on, tires hold air, but the shifter cable is seized inside the housing.

I am impressed with this bike. The front brake perch has a built in bell and the handgrips are genuine leather. There is also a bar mounted coffee cup holder.

Just waiting for the shifter cable and brake pads to arrive. Probably will be waiting a week for Amazon.

Yeah, that bike was a bit nicer than my Mongoose Sahara that I ride but I'm just fine with my BBB 'Goose.

Good job with that bike! I got a used Felt triathlon bike sold last month on Craigslist to a French vacationer here.
Jim Felt lives here in town, so he's a bit of a local celebrity. The company was bought recently by a European sports conglomerate but they kept Jim on board as one of the principals. Felt supplies Euro race teams, and we had a stage of the Tour of California start right here in town a few years ago, some of the pro's were riding Felt bikes.
Our main downtown bike shop here sells Felt, Santa Cruz, Orbea, Pivot and Specialized. Tomcat's right, Felt hits lower price points in every category.
Funny this is, Felt was headquartered 500 miles South of here in Canyon Country above Los Angeles when I lived down there about 25 years ago. They were known for making the very lightest high-end aluminum road race bikes at the time, but now sell both mtb and road bikes at all price points and materials.
