Increase front fork stiffness

Postby 2TrakMind » Fri Feb 03, 2017 7:09 pm

So I know this is probably a crazy, maybe even a little bit stupid of a question, but I've noticed that these big box store suspension forks are often pretty soft. I'm not a very big guy, but I feel like they compress far too easily. Wondered if anyone knew of a way to increase the general stiffness without losing travel.

If it has a Suntour fork, then you can buy a stiffer spring for most of their models.

The other problem of fork stiffness has to do with the bbb's with a disc brake mounted on one of the all-steel forks, which makes the steering pull to the left when the front brake is applied hard. No fix for that other than a better fork.

I have 3 bikes with disc brakes and never noticed them pulling to one side. What would cause that feeling?
