Different Kid Trailer

Postby wa_desert_rat » Sun Sep 04, 2011 6:12 am

My daughter and her family love to bike but her oldest boy, who is five, has a mild case of cerebral palsy so we're all afraid that if we put him on a bike seat type of trailer he might fall off and get hurt. We've been checking into the various trailers that secure kids and this one seems pretty good. Not cheap, however. It's in the "over $350" area. More than an average big-box-bike. Still... if you want a bike for a kid but are worried that they might fall asleep or somehow fall this is worth looking at.

Different Kid Trailer

We have the Nashbar row behind trailer. We use it as a stroller at the moment. My 4 yo has autism and he's fine in it. I'm going attach it to my bike as soon as I get it built.

We have the $88 base model of trailer from Instep (Pacific's trailer brand). Works fine for hauling a 4 yo and almost 2 yo that combined weigh about 55lbs.
My bikes: Mongoose Valiant, Tyax Elite, Switchback SS, Blackcomb, and the old DXR

Other: Origin8 Uno SS/fixie
