Mongoose Salvo Expert FS deal

Postby metalman302 » Mon Sep 18, 2017 2:32 pm

Price is $889- $902 prime depending on if you get S, M, or L. Seems like good deal for what you get. 120mm travel front and rear on the 27.5 vs the 100mm on the same 29er. The fork alone cost around $400.

I'll wait for PH to tell me if this is the real deal.

More than the real deal and compare this price with all LBS offerings.

Be aware, Amazon charges $59 tax, at least when shipping to CA.

Rear axle is the normal 135mm QR standard apparently, not too big of a deal but helps them hit a lower price point.

Is the X-Fusion shock any good?

All the feedback I've seen on the brand in general is good. I'm not sure how it compares against equivalent RS or Fox ones. I know I've seen the brand as OEM on other good bikes but can't recall which.

My KHS 27.5 has an x-fusion E1RL rear shock.
After a few rides I noticed the little screw in the middle of the red rebound knob had loosened.
A drop of threadlocker fixed that.
I've rode it 2 years so far with no problems.

These prices are very good for horst link lightweight bikes. Never once have i seen a wheel fall off with QR or any other freaky incident and i live in the mountains on a mountain. I will put money on the idea that these bikes perform with the best of them with the right tires as the only mod. The price is dictated from the frame material which is 6061 and not the ultralight tin can 7005.

Down another $40, $782 and free bike shop setup. Ship it straight to the shop and pick it up ready to ride.
