Full Suspension bargain around $600

I saw this bike on sale today online, with today's 30% discount it's $575. Shipping is "free" but with an oversize surcharge, perhaps $30 or so. Also there is sales tax for specific states where Performance/Nashbar has stores.

This Diamondback Atroz has a basic Suntour fork but also has a RockShox air shock and a sealed ball bearing pivot for the swingarm. Pivot location is also optimized to minimize bobbing from pedaling.
27.7x2.35" tires on double-walled rims, single chainring with 11-34t 9s cassette. And there's hydraulic disc brakes!
Nothing fancy with the frame, no actual headtube gusseting and it's all 6061-T6 so not the very lightest. It does have extra mounting points for a cable housing going to a dropper seatpost not supplied.

Of the few low-cost full-suspension bikes offered, I'd take a good look at this one!

I'm not sure it's still available. I followed the link. It said normally $1200 - 31% on sale for $820. To see if it would take more off if I put in cart I tried to do that and I just got a screen with an elephant riding a bike. :-/

The good thing about that Diamondback Atroz mentioned above is the 27.5 wheel size for a trail bike. The problem is the other specs like the 4" (100mm) travel and the limited gear range make it more of a cross country bike. Trail bikes should have between 120 - 140 mm of suspension travel. I have a 27.5 trail bike and after changing the front chainrings I'm now good with low gear 22 front, 36 rear, and high gear 36 front, 11 rear.
Compare that to the above and you can see the gearing on the Atroz would be totally insufficient.

The diamondback is a little more raked and bikes direct is still on 3x with most of their packages, but their intended purpose is the same and those packages are about the same but incredibly similar.

Bikes direct comes in both 27.5 or 29er just like the atroz. The sale price in winter for bikes direct top package for this frame is pretty hard to beat.
