post a pic of your 650b

The industry is coming out with new riding formats and 27.5 looks like a keeper. Here's where you talk it over with other riders.

I moved back to Australia after living in Japan for 11 years.
My GF / Trek 29er was too heavy to bring so I left it over there so I'll have a bike to ride when I holiday there.
Anyway, I realized how much I missed my MTB but had very little money to buy another. The supermarket chain called Aldi advertised a No Name 650b (by Polygon Cycles) in their catalog so I took a gamble.
Well the gamble payed off...I've ridden it every day for the past month with no problems.

Polygon is a big brand,
http://www.polygonbikes.com/ww/bikes/mountain-bikes
The closest dealer to the USA being

1
Dosis Deportiva Preferred Dealer
Avenida México, Álvaro Obregón Desarrollo Urbano, 01278 Álvaro Obregón, DF, Mexico
Mexico City, Mexico 11590

Phone: +52 55 4347 2818
http://www.dosisdeportiva.com

email: info@dosisdeportiva.com

And Aldi here in the states, is apparently something quite a bit different than there in Austrailia.

On that note, Congratulations! Everything else I've seen online about this bike has been high praise and/or "the church of LBS" fear mongering - The typical replacement parts, warranty, and assembly demons, will drag your bike to hell with you on it, forks installed backwards and all  .. Enthusiasts, hobbyists, bike wrench dudes, they're not fanatical subscribers to the church of LBS doctrine of pro assembly, high prices, and because it's expensive, it must be better. We have a couple of those guys here, but for the most part, this forum is the perfect place for you and this awesome bike that makes me jealous :P

lol.. It kind of doesn't matter how well integrated the components are, or how durable the package could be, this article and the comments on this article are perfect example of the biases of some people not wanting to accept department store bikes as worthy entry level bikes.

Maybe they'll be available in the USA someday?

Aldi is the biggest grocer in europe. It was ran by 2 brothers. They had a falling out (much like the Adidas/ Puma drama) and they split up the world.

Basically one brother has europe and a couple of other regions and the other has north america plus a couple other spots (i am unsure as to the exact split). They both operate aldi but also have several other sub brands (one of the more famous aldi brands in NA is trader joes). These companies are also a particular excellent place to work (just sayin').

Both chains carry other items like tools, toys, and yes even bikes.

Thanks guys. I'm fortunate as I have three Aldi stores within 3 km of my home. Aldi is tricky though. They advertise a week before the sale, and only have limited stock. So the trick is to be at the front doors at 8.30am to secure their bargains. Sadly I already have a Garmin, but I hear they'll be selling the Garmin200 at a ridiculously low price.

650B+ here or what I'd call 27.5x2.8 mongoose terrex.
While they were cool, I just had to remove most of the stickers. I did nearly the same to my '99 Tahoe when I bought it. :D
