Testing out the Maxxis Mammoth tires

Wide-tire bicycles with flotation are great in snow or on sand.

Testing out the Maxxis Mammoth tires

Postby Highspeedgt » Mon Dec 18, 2017 7:36 pm

I bought these tires with the hopes that they'd be good on the trails, in sand, and maybe some snow. I confirmed that they are great on the trails, and that they do well in sand. They're OK (ish) in snow, as long as it's not very deep. Tested at 12psi (trail riding pressure with no snow), and at 6 psi (recommended snow pressure). They are pretty awful at 12 psi, but did rather well at 6.

Thanks for that entertaining (and useful) video.

What bike were you riding? (I had CC enabled but didn't see it if you mentioned that.)

I was on the hitch! Doesn't quite look the same after the changes made, but she's running strong!
