Shoes for Snow Biking?

Wide-tire bicycles with flotation are great in snow or on sand.

Shoes for Snow Biking?

Postby Ridin_Dirty » Sat Oct 01, 2016 9:33 pm

I recently bought a fat bike and I'm looking forward to snow biking this winter. What kind of shoes do I need? Is there a particular kind of boot that's ideal?

Probably an insulated shoe with a lugged sole, in case you have to walk the bike anywhere. Anything less than a shoe, like a high or low top boot would hinder your movement when pedaling.

Give some thought to the need to push your bike through snow (or just walk through snow). I use ankle high hiking boots, waterproof, with smart wool socks.
