Big Box Duel Suspension Bike?

Postby Chadden » Tue Oct 10, 2017 7:13 pm

Looking for a decent duel suspension bike. Not anything to go whipping down the mountain in, but something that could do some intermediate trails in the future if I decided to tweak it? Any ideas? Mongoose XR Pro comes to mind. I'm 6'1" so it has to fit my height.

The consensus choice per this forum seems to be the XR-Pro. You probably won't find one in a local Walmart, sightings seem to be as rare as the ellusive Jack-A-Lope, but you can order one online. Prices seem to fluctuate but may be down now for the upcoming holiday season. As far as how it fits you at 6'-1" you'll have to look through the threads on it here and check what owners have to say. BBB's only seem to come as a one-size-fits-all but you shouldn't be cramped on it.

XR pro is a good choice and if there is any doubt then look at the feedback across the net and not just this forum. No tweaking involved with the bike for trail use out of the box.

I just got my XR PRO home and assembled it. I think It was a good purchase. The frame looks to be very high quality. The components are decent. My first change was the saddle and seatpost. It was too short 225mm and a small thin saddle. The replacement was from my Mongoose Paver 400mm same 27.2mm size. The frame is 44cm. I am 71 inches tall. This seems to work. For $300 could not do better. 71 days till Spring!
